SliderGuide launched in January 2007, and in that short amount of time we have made some friends, lots of enemies, and have been banned from competing in 3 countries. It has certainly been worth it, because I really didn't feel like being held up at gunpoint in Latvia anyway. Our goal this year was to offend at least 100 people so badly that they felt obligated to join. We succeeded, and it feels great to say that we now reach 100 fans across the world.
In that respect, we have decided to dedicate the spring and summer to improving the site. There will be no regular news updates during this time. However, we encourage you to read our development blog (coming soon) at blog.sliderguide.com to learn about our plans for next season. Without giving too much away, I will mention that video is going to play a large role on SliderGuide next year. I am also looking for a replacement writer, as I will inevitably be beaten to death by a mob of angry Russians.
On a final note, there are greater honors in our sport than winning World Cup medals. Therefore we would like to humbly present the 2007 SliderGuide Awards for Lack of Excellence in Skeleton. Enjoy.
